So after spending hours marking history comic strips, non-fiction reading assignments, math practice pages and watercolour art work and finding that perhaps a quarter of these offerings had NO NAME on them, I came up with this solution.
I have already told the students that I will not mark anything without a name because it is a waste of my time since I cannot attribute the mark to anyone. I have put the no name ones up on the board and/or held them up asking for the owner to claim them, but this too is a waste of time. From now on I am just going to place the unmarked, no name work in this basket. When I message the students that I have not received this piece of work from them and they claim “But I handed it in”, I will say check the basket. If it is there, resubmit it. If not, I don’t have it.
